International art prize
On Sunday, October 29, there was the ceremony for the award of the San Crispino International Art Competition at Villa Baruchello in Porto Sant 'Elpidio.
Representative Award of the Marche Region to Alessandra D'Andrea, with the opera "Dissolvences" Book 1 -Stars interrupted.
Technique - carrara marble mosaic, black china imperial bardiglio and botticino on plywood.
The work represents a book open to the center, where there is written in mosaic tiles my poem titled "Streets interrupted"
the writing towards the center dissolves, fades from black to light gray almost to be lost (like the theme of poetry) the meaning
of the work is in the struggle between eternal and ephemeral, the eternal represented by the technique of mosaic and writing itself, (as if it were written by hand)
as a means of passing knowledge and art over the centuries, and the ephemeral depicted by the fading of words that is meant to be the word
written on the book at internet times is almost extinct, word, writing today runs on the "screen" fast,
light, volatile, the information runs out and crosses in a very short time, everything is lost in the frenzy and in the ether.
The book is eternal (or almost) and a marble book is even more, to denounce, the loss of sense and importance that is now written,
as it was an old-fashioned thing and overcome by the new media.
Poetry is eternal, the books are, the mosaic is ...
